Optimal cervical cancer prevention includes giving every young girl the HPV vaccine and ensuring every woman aged 30 – 49 globally is screened for cervical cancer at least once in her life. From here, any woman in whom HPV is detected must be followed up and given proper treatment for the infection.

The ROSE (Removing Obstacles to Cervical Screening) Foundation is an international collaboration between Malaysia and Australia that has dramatically increased cervical cancer screening rates in Malaysia women. ROSE provides a self swab technique that allows women to screen themselves, even from the comfort of their own home. The foundation aims to screen women in both urban and rural parts of Malaysia.
